As a full-service advertising agency, we at Traction spend a good majority of our time trying to please our paying clients. And to be honest, we must be pretty dang good at it because Warehouse 127 is usually just one big cove of advertising pleasure.
But what really makes the Traction cove all cozy on the inside is when we have the opportunity to give back to the community by providing our services to OKC's most deserving and credible non-profit organizations.
Each year, we hand-select a handful of these groups to which we offer the Traction touch, free of charge. The only currency we will accept is creative freedom and a sincere "Thank You" or two. This year, we tip our hats to the
YWCA,
Arthritis Foundation,
Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, and
Camp Fire USA.
Camp Fire USA’s Heart of Oklahoma Council very recently came to us looking for a fairly extensive helping hand. And we threw it out there as far as we could reach. We’re still hashing out exactly what’s needed, but it looks like brand identity, a smooth new website and several collateral pieces are in the works. It’ll be a long and time consumptive road, but when the Traction makeover is finished, the Heart of Oklahoma Council will be the best-looking Camp Fire USA council in the USA.
The YWCA, Arthritis Foundation and Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma each
approached Traction about creating materials for their annual events –
Purple Sash, Tribute to Excellence and Chefs’ Feast, respectively.
YWCA’s Purple Sash, a black-tie event created to raise money and awareness for battered women and families, was held June 7 in the
Renaissance Ballroom at the
Cox Business Services Convention Center in Downtown OKC. Traction was honored to provide the artwork for the Invite Card, Reply Card and Program Cover. Traction was also a Platinum Sash Sponsor for the event. Purple Sash featured a dinner, silent auction, live auction and three runway fashion shows featuring the personal collection of Oklahoma-based fashion designer/Project Runway alum
Johnathan Kayne. One lucky Tractioneer even walked away the highest bidder and proud new owner of an Elvis Presley wall clock.
The Arthritis Foundation’s Tribute to Excellence Dinner, honoring Oklahoma State University President V. Burns Hargis, was held at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, and featured keynote speaker T. Boone Pickens. T. Marketing Group…sorry, Traction Marketing Group…designed and laid out the entire 24-page program.
The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma provided Traction the theme – “All you need is love” – for its annual
Chefs' Feast spring event. In return, Traction provided branding and art direction for an awesome set of collateral materials that included Invitations, Reply Cards, Program Covers, Tickets, and Retro Printed Flower Centerpieces. As always, OKC’s top chefs threw down scores of prime nosh for this year’s attendees at the
National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum on April 17th. Chefs’ Feast also featured a wine tasting and a wine pull. Proceeds from the annual event help raise hunger awareness and funds for the organization.
